Little Miss Homo Sapien's Cave

Moodswing

Is this why my blood is its hue?

I see red when I’m blue;

Roses are violet when blue moon;

I paint the town red when full moon.

  1. This poem evokes the connections between the natural cycle of women and the phases of the moon, which I find fascinating.
    I rarely escape the mood swings during that couple of weeks every month. I find they amplify whatever I’m feeling at the time – if I’m happy I go hyper, if I’m irritated I go feral, and if I’m down I go downright melancholic. How are you feeling this month?

    • I like how you were able to read between the lines of this poem 🙂

      For quite a while now I’m convinced that I’m under the moon’s drunken influence, because the red flag hasn’t risen up for me the last couple of months. And It’s because of these off-kilter hormones of mine that I’ve been having bouts of doldrums and derailed train of thoughts. My system’s clearly messed-up.

      I’ll get over this soon, hopefully. By the way, I hope you now feel better with your cold. 🙂
